A
federal program exists to provide financial assistance
to manufacturers affected by import competition. The Trade
Adjustment Assistance for Firms (TAA) program
pays for half the cost of consultants or
industry-specific experts for projects that
improve a manufacturer's competiveness.
Some
examples of projects covered
by the program include ISO 9001 registration, CE mark
certification, product design, and operations analysis.
