Platinum Registration recently led a discussion at the request of the Pike's Peak Manufacturers Task Force. The presentation material is now available. ISO 9001 Myths, ISO 14001 Basics The management system registration industry is now old enough to have developed its own mythology of phantom requirements. The presentation explores interpretation mistakes associated with control of documents (4.2.3), management review (5.6), customer satisfaction (8.2.1), and the purchasing process (7.4.1). ISO 14001 differs from ISO 9001 in one key way. While ISO 9001 is about happy customers, ISO 14001 is about a happy planet. The basic approach to ISO 14001 is briefly explored in the presentation, including the concepts of environmental aspects and impacts. RoHS/WEEE We dont claim to be experts in the European Communitys directives on hazardous substances and electronic waste. The task force asked us to deliver a brief on affected products, exemptions from compliance, and enforcement of these far-reaching regulations.
